£124,000 Compensation Awarded To Mr G For Mesothelioma
We were instructed by Mr G in respect of a diagnosis of asbestos related pleural effusions. Sadly Mr G’s condition deteriorated and although he underwent pleural biopsies which were negative, he was given a clinical diagnosis of mesothelioma.
Mr G had been employed by Mitchell Construction Co Limited between 1946 and 1964 as a bricklayer. He mainly worked in various power stations which were always full of laggers.
The Defendant resisted the claim. They argued that Mr G’s condition was uncertain given the negative pleural biopsies. Mr G passed away during the claim and the diagnosis was then confirmed.
Mrs G took over the claim and it settled in advance of the assessment of damages hearing in the sum of £124,000.
